EDITOR’S NOTE

The year 2000 has been a great year for us where we have seen many changes and development not only in the State of Sarawak but also in the Association. The significant library development for the State was the opening of the new Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (The Sarawak State Library) on the 31st December 1999. The new library demonstrates the State Government great emphasis on enabling virtual and widespread sharing of information and library resources in the State.
In another step towards its goal to expand library development, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, National Library of Malaysia and Librarian Association of Malaysia have hosted to the 3rd Digital Library Conference which has attracted 200 participants all over the region. We hope you will enjoy this issue which includes reports and activities for the year 2000. The Editorial Board would like to thank all PPMKSAR Members for their involvement with planning all events, projects, social gathering and for providing great support which has made the year of 2000 activities a tremendous success. With this in mind, we would like to wish all our members “Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri”, “Merry Christmas” and “A Prosperous New Year”.
